After 2 + years in East Texas I’ll be signing off the KTRE/KLTV airwaves on January 6, 2017.
While I’ve been in Lufkin, I’ve been able to hone my craft as an anchor and reporter. I’ve added “award-winning” to my biography thanks to the work at KTRE.
I also rediscovered my love for teaching at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. I taught over 100 students in my 3 semesters in the journalism program. A handful of my students became interns, colleagues and friends.
I got to tell some amazing stories from East Texas from my “East Texas Throwback” series. From the Lufkin nuns to the Blue Hole in Zavalla — I got to strengthen my storytelling skills. And get some recognition for it from viewers and journalism organizations.
And finally, I was able to make a home in East Texas — thanks to the friendly people I met and strengthened my bond with my fiance.
Thank you East Texas for the last two years. <3
